HK 79 The Temple Apartment .

Hello Everyone!

So, I just moved into Kowloon and man, it is a nice place as well! I like it, its less busy and it doesn't give me a bad headache. I learned a lot in the island though, it is probably the highlight of my mission but I know that the Lord has a lot in store for these last few months in Kowloon.
So when President Lam called me about the transfers last week he jokingly said that he needed me to open Kowloon area. Well, the area is actually open with Elder Grayam in it but yeah it actually feels like we are opening an area because we have nothing to work with. So what we did was we did plan and prayed super hard for a direction, we came up with names of formers, potentials, and families we can strengthen so that we could help them fulfill their responsibility as missionaries.

The temple apartment is amazing, super cold! Super comfortable with the weather outside. So yeah about my new companion. He is from FLORIDA(Lets go Heat, Lets go Heat)! Elder Grayam is an awesome missionary. He has been in the field for almost a year now and he is full of energy, charity and faith!

Scot seems to be amazing, I met with him last week and bore my testimony of how I know that his decision will definitely bless his wife and kids. He is such an amazing example. He just has that light shining right now. Its nice seeing him share his experiences in church and making friends.

I've been pondering about service a lot recently. When you are in the service of your fellow being you are only in the service of God. I love that scripture. As I was pondering I thought of ways on how we can serve other people. Here are some things that I wrote down. Smile, offer to help, look for the good in one person, observe them and compliment them on how good they are, and many more. I know that as we serve people we will be able to gain eternal friendships. If only everyone would serve each other in the world. How great would that be? I know that Jesus Christ lives. He is my savior and my redeemer. the power of his atonement is so real! He is indeed a gift to the world! HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

HK 78 Transferring To Kowloon Soon.

Wow, I am going to miss the island so much. So I will be moving to the Kowloon area together with Elder Grayam. Elder Johnson will be training a new missionary so many exciting things are going to happen in here. I am so grateful for the many lessons that I gave learned from Hong Kong Island. It was awesome to see how dead it was and now being really fruitful. I am excited for whats gonna happen here.

So a cool experience that happened last week was when our investigator David needed a fridge. We told him to pray about it. Elder Johnson and I prayed and fasted for it as well. So last sunday Dipal of Victoria 1st branch called and asked us to help him move. We agreed to spend all our preparation day to help him move. As we were helping him move he asked us if anyone was in need of a fridge because he has an extra fridge. After thinking about it, I remembered David! So we got a fridge for David and that experience definitely strengthened his testimony. Hopefully that builds him up for his baptismal date on the 25th of September.

We were able to see Scot as well. He is doing amazing! We taught him together with President Andy and we helped him teach the plan of Salvation. These member helping us with his ABLs has been really effective. Saw his family last Sunday as well. They are super cute together. His kids are just well behaved, I am very impressed.

I love this place. I will never forget the many experiences I have in the Island. I know that I was sent here to bless other peoples lives and in turn be blessed by them as well. I have definitely learned how to trust Heavenly Father and his timing. Charity never fails. I have seen how this principle has carried me through out my mission. I have definitely gained a strong conviction of the love that God has for his children is true. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives, his example and his teachings are amazing. I know that this church is true! I love the scriptures and I am so grateful for the feeling that the spirit brings. It is amazing! I am excited to serve in Kowloon! It will be amazing!

HK 77 See You Around .

Last week was awesome once again. I love the work, I tried my best. Sundays are always the best, I had a pretty good sleep last night. I am really tired. I love it though, it's amazing how Elder Johnson and I have been seeing a lot of tender mercies the whole time this transfer. As I have been reading the Book of Mormon recently, I have been seeing a clear pattern of gratefulness. The prophet Nephi and Lehi are really great examples. Acknowledging Heavenly Fathers hand in the work has brought so much peace into my heart. Heavenly Father is definitely working miracles here in Hong Kong.

We met with Scot last week, he is so awesome! He is glowing and his testimony is getting even stronger. He went to church in England the last 3 weeks too. Great experiences for him. I am so happy!

David is doing alright as well. He came to church and he has a very humble heart that every time we ask if he prays or reads the scriptures he would say no because he says he doesn't want to boast that he prays and reads. So I hope David is on the right track. He is amazing.

We gave Elvis a baptismal date as well. Elvis was a very old investigator back in Dai Po and I saw him on the street 3 months ago. Now I was able to get a hold of him and he seems pretty down to learn the gospel once again.

Member Missionary work has been great too. I love the members in 維多利亞三分會. They are all amazing and I always feel the spirit every time I go to church or even visit their homes. The gospel is so true. I know that Charity is the pure love of Christ. It never fails. It never will. I am so grateful for the Love of God and His son Jesus Christ. I am grateful for this knowledge! See you around!

HK 76 Four Months To Go.

Hey there! So much things that I have learned again! I am so grateful that I have been learning a ton of valuable lessons out here. Great lessons are definitely caught, so it is really important to open your mind and be focus through out the day. It is crazy. I've been really tired recently but it's amazing how there is just enough energy to go through the day. 3

So last week we were able to teach our long time investigator Tony again. He is really on the right track. We bore our sincere testimony together with Roger. Members are so important! I know that during lesson, everyone is being edified by the spirit. Even us as missionaries. I have so much hope for Tony. I know that the time will come when things will just click in his mind.

Another miracle is David. He finally came back from France. I called him almost everyday from the start of august because I remembered that he was coming back. So grateful that we were able to get a hold of him. We taught him yesterday and I see that he has a stronger desire to follow Christ. We gave him a baptismal date and we are hoping that he would sincerely do the commitments so that he could develop his faith.

Mission Leadership Council was awesome too! It was filled with the spirit and it is amazing how we have learned a lot of things as to how we can help the mission improve. We talked about Faith in our prayers and in finding people to teach. We came to a conclusion about how important it is to always have Faith Hope and Charity. It was a great discussion. We received a lot of direction from MLC and we are excited to have a zone meeting with the zone.

So this year the Prophets have counselled us to do member missionary work and I think Elder Johnson and I have gained the skill of how we can do member missionary work. The spirit really guided us with a lot of ideas about how we can help members fulfill their purposes. I think its cool that we have been seeing a lot of miracles from it recently.

Something that hit me during church yesterday was the topic about temples. Brother James bore his powerful testimony of the temple he gave a great analogy about how he went hiking the other day and how often the scriptures say that mountains are reffered as the temples. Up on the mountain top, we can definitely see a better view of the city and see things clearly as they are. The temples are definitely the same. I have learned so much about the role of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in this world. Experiences in the temple are such a big part of my testimony. I can still picture in my mind how I saw Brent and I together with mom and dad looking at the mirrors in the temple. Families can really be together forever. I also remember the first time I recognized the spirit. It was when the temple in Cebu was dedicated. I remember after President Monson dedicated it and the whole congregation started singing The Spirit of God, I felt the spirit enter the Temple. My bosom was definitely burning. It felt like all the elements in my body rejoiced. I felt it from head to toe. It was amazing. I am so grateful for the restoration. I know that the priesthood is once again restored and it brings to much blessings! I am so grateful for the savior in my life. He really does understand everything that we go through. I know that He lives!

HK 75 The Way You Get What You Want, Is To Be Grateful For What You Have.

Wow Last week was awesome, we've been seeing a lot of tender mercies from the Lord. I am very tired at the same time. Oh, how much I love this work!

So last week we were able to teach a whole family and baptize them. It was another great experience. We spent the whole day teaching them and its amazing to see how focused these people are during the lessons. Listening to two twenty year old could be tiring sometimes but its crazy how the whole family was so hungry for spiritual knowledge. They were indeed prepared and it was an amazing experience for me to baptize their whole family. The service was full of spirit. There were a lot of members from mainland who came down to support the people that were getting baptized that day. That was an amazing experience and it will be great to keep in contact with after the mission. It's pretty cool to have a bigger vision for people. For some reason during lessons with investigators my mind gets carried away to the eternal potential of each investigator. It gives me so much hope for all the people I teach. It's amazing!

I was really excited for the Temple last week. It was amazing, I love the temple and I love how much I learn in His house. I am always rejuvenated by the power of the Spirit. I am blessed to have the chance to go to the temple every transfer. Right after the temple we got "Qing'ed" out by Yoshi. Pretty cool how there were a lot of surprises last week. Feels great to feel loved haha!

Member missionary work seems to be clicking recently. I am happy that we are having a great time working with the members and spend quality to get to know them better. As a result we were able to receive 4 referrals. Pretty amazing!

I am excited with what has been happening in our area. I think we have been seeing a ton of miracles every week. It's funny because I told Elder Johnson to brace himself for the island but it has been really smooth recently. Pretty good start for him so far. I have been studying a lot about gratefulness recently. It is super important to thank Heavenly Father for all the blessings you receive. It's amazing how, when you count it, you feel so loved by Heavenly Father! I am so grateful for His love. His love is so real! Have a great week!
