HK 48 Freezing Temperatures !

Hello! Last week was awesome! Another humbling experience from God. Learned a lot last week. I have learned to humble myself down in every situation. During the time of many and during the time of abundance, we always have to remember Him through those times. Last week Elder Forston and I worked so hard. We tried to stop everyone, try to testify to as many people we could. It was tough, it was cold, my feet hurts, hands numb, no one would stop but that wasn't gonna stop us from preaching the gospel. Although it we didn't have much "success" last week in finding my heart is at peace because I know I did my best.

Last week I had the chance to go on splits with Elder Grayam in Kowloon Tong. That area is amazing. Everyone I talked to would stop. Finding with him in the park was fun, we were able to teach a couple of mainlanders and bore a powerful testimony about the plan of salvation and prayer. Hopefully the seed we planted would germinate. We did calls as well, I taught Elder Grayam about the importance of the old investigator list. We spent an hour going over those list and we were able to schedule a couple of people and it turns out that one of them wants to join the church. That was a miracle! We also taught a 19 year old kid named Jason. We taught him a great lesson one and invited him for baptism! He accepted it! That was awesome, he is very golden! On the other hand of the exchange Elder Woolley and Forston was able to give out a baptismal date to one of our investigators as well. That was a miracle as well, that was one effective exchange right there.

Our friend Macco is back from mainland, was really impressed with his positive attitude towards the difficult possibilities he has in life. He is a great man, back to square one tho. We are restarting the process once again.

Church last week was awesome. We were able to bring Scott, Ian and Neo to church. Neo and Ian are two new investigators. We hope they are going to progress. Scott has been amazing recently. He is a very humble guy. He went to church despite of some circumstances. He stayed for the whole three hours and he loved it. Member missionary work is very important. Everyone is a missionary, it is important for everyone to fulfill there missionary responsibilities.

We almost got robbed by some people. Saw a couple of guys trying to talk to people, as they approached us they asked us for a picture of Jesus. How great was that? Thing is it was weird cos they asked us to open our bags cos they want a small picture of Jesus. I opened my proselyting case and flipped through and he told me to keep flipping. I got scared, good thing was there is nothing in our bags, haha. Good thing is we are safe, nothing happened. Glad those two have a picture of Jesus :)

Went running the other day, man I am out of shape! Since it is cold we don't have the chance to go out a lot. Hopefully next week we can play basketball in the cold, ha! Man it really is cold out here.

I am so grateful for all the experiences out here, both spiritual and temporal are eternal blessings to me. I love the Lord. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve him and be His representative in Hong Kong. I am so grateful for the blessings of the restoration. Just got out of the temple, it was great! The spirit in there is awesome. I know the Church is True. I know Christ's church was restored by a young boy with a great question. "which church is true?" I know that Christ lives, he is my savior and my redeemer. He is yours too! I know that Heavenly Father Loves each one of us and has a great blessings inspired for us. All we have to do is keep His commandments. I know that the Holy Ghost is real as well. If we humble ourselves and open our hearts we will be able to feel it. I love you all, I hope you have a great week! See ya!

HK 47 How Will Your Goals Bring You Closer To Christ This Year ?

Hello! Hows it going! Great week of rendering service to the people of Hong Kong and the Main-landers! I am grateful for the many experiences I've had out here.

This week was a test of faith once again! It has been tough recently. We have been working really hard, relying on the spirit, talking with everyone but we haven't found anyone that we could teach. In the midst of it, it was really tough but as I knelt down and talk to Heavenly Father I received a confirming answer that the effort wasn't wasted. I am grateful for the peace that I felt during that day. Prayer is really helpful. I am grateful for the chance to develop that habit out here on a mission. We kneel down and pray almost all the time through out the day. It might feel a bit of a route thing to do sometimes but I try hard to always sincerely pray. That has been a blessing and the peace it brings is precious.

It was really rainy this week so finding was kind of tough cos almost everyone is indoor. We were able to contact some referrals tho! And we were able to have a new investigator as well. We are excited with him. He is very enthusiastic.  We were able to visit a family in our ward as well. That was a blessing to see their example. Such a good family! It was fun to get to know them more and it was great that we had a good dinner, ha! The branch where I am serving has been doing really good recently. I feel the spirit every time I talk with the members. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve them as well.

Elder Forston has been doing great. Immersed him with mandarin, so most of the time we are speaking mandarin! Its been helping him a lot. We have been working really hard recently and we are expecting many things from this area. I am grateful that I get to serve my fellow missionaries as well. I was able to go on splits with Elder Mangrobang last week. We were able to do Filipino work together and it was fun that I was able to serve my fellow Filipinos. This week I was able to interview someone who was going to be baptized next week. We had a great time sharing our testimonies. Although my Tagalog isn't good, I tried to bear it in Tagalog. It was fun cos I could see it in her face that she knew I couldn't speak Tagalog. Its like a mix of Tagalog and Cebuano, ha! Hey I have been having a hard time expressing myself in English recently so I am sorry if everything sounds weird.

For this year we are studying the teachings of President Hunter. I was going through the book and I was interested in the life of the prophet. I am so grateful of their fine example of following the savior Jesus Christ. I know that we have living prophets and they are called as guides for us in these last days. Through them we will know how to be in the world but not of the world. I know the church is true. I know Jesus is the Christ. I know Heavenly Father Loves us so much! He really Does!

HK 46 Living The Abundant Life !

Hello How is everyone, great week of service! I just love the work! Very selfless and nothing I ask for in return. This week was great, we had M.L.C. It is where are the zone leaders and sister training leaders meet up to have a meeting. It was fun sitting down and hearing the insights of others. I was indeed edified during the meeting. This week we also had zone training. It was great, kind of where being up there talking in front of people. Its a fear I was able to overcome over the course of my mission. That is a great blessing. The meeting was great, we had a great time talking with the zone about how we can be better missionaries.

Missionary work was great we were able to bring Scott and his family to church. Scott has been doing great recently. He is a very humble man who values his family. The church is just perfect for their family. I know great things are going to happen with their family. Of course we were able to bring Shi dixiong as well. Funny old man, we are working hard with this old man. We are immersing him with a lot of spiritual stuff so that he can understand things easily. I am pretty sure everything will work out as well. There was another baptism in the ward as well. That was another great experience witnessing Anna's baptism. The work is great and the Victoria 3rd branch has been great as well. With the 2 baptisms last month the ward has gotten a lot closer. That was a blessing. The people in the branch are such great example to me. They know how to set aside there work and help missionaries out.

This week was pretty cool, life is hard indeed. Was able to talk to a couple of people this week about their life. It was cool that they were so open to talk about the challenges they had. Most of them almost cried, probably because no one is there to listen to there problems. It was great that we were able to talk and testify about how the gospel can bring peace and hope into there lives.

We were able to help senior missionaries with their project blanket as well. We spent six hours cutting blankets so that we can send them to mainland china. That was a great service. It was fun cutting the blankets although my hands were hurting.

I love the experiences out here. It is all priceless. I know it will be another good week in the vineyard of the Lord. I hope you guys have a better week. I know that God lives. I know that we are the light of the world and we are all here to help each other receive that light. I love the gospel. I am grateful for mom and dads example and for pushing me to go to church all the time even though I am tired. It all makes sense to me now. I know Christ lives.

HK 45 The Time Has Now Come To Turn About And Face The Future.

Awesome week. Man, time is fast! Another year has come. New years was pretty normal. Good thing was getting a good sleep on New Years eve, ha! Greeted all the people a happy new year. Well the real new year here in Hong Kong is around February so that's probably when things will get crazy.  This week was interesting, focused more on finding and recent converts as our investigator went back to mainland for the holiday. It was awesome to be able to meet our recent converts and see how they are spiritually. Learned a few things from my companion as well.

This week we were able to meet with Alan. We watched the video about Lots wife. Probably shared this with you guys last year but yeah! Lot and his family were commanded to leave the city of Sodom and Gomorrah. They were told to leave that city with out looking back. As they were leaving, Lots wife looked around and turned into a pillar of salt. DON'T LOOK BACK! Its a new year! So we gave Alan a card and at the back of the card are his goals for the whole year. We shared with him that its another time to reflect and see how we can improve for the year 2016. Well sometimes after the month of January we forget the goals we have, we have to be constantly reminded about the goals we have set. Then we shared the important story of the rich young man asking Jesus " What Lack I yet". We invited him to be constantly asking heavenly father, what lack I yet? That was a super good lesson. So you know what I invite all of you to think about the lesson that we have shared as well. What is something you have to change for this year? That was a great lesson with Alan. We were able to meet a couple of people. We were able to teach this one dude before he went back to mainland. That was crazy while I was flipping through the old investigator book I was prompted to call him and it turns out the day after that he had to go back to mainland for work. So we taught him about the plan of salvation and I know we have planted something that will germinate in the years to come. We were also able to teach a couple of families. We taught the restoration to them and testified of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. That was a privilege, because after teaching that one family another family walked in and wanted to see the chapel and we taught a lesson. Main-landers are seeking for spiritual truth. You can just feel the hunger and thirst they have for a belief.

We went finding this week. It was fun! We had the positive attitude and we were able to teach a lot of people of the streets. Finding was fun, most of the people we contacted were locals tho so we have to turn them over to the other elders. Nonetheless its all the same work. Its been a ride out here relying on the Lords strength to find His prepared people and having the strength to stop people and testify to them about something they've never heard before.

This week during companionship study with Elder Forston. He shared a really interesting thought about how we rely on the strength of the atoning sacrifice of out savior. It was a talk from Elder Bednar. Talking about how our faith can give us the Strength to overcome our weaknesses. One episode from the book of Mormon would be nephi asking strength from the Lord that he can break the bands which were binding him. We see that he didn't as that the bands would all of a sudden break but he asked for the Strength. Pretty cool talk, Elder Bednar gave more stories in that talk. What I learned is we can as the strength from the Lord to do the things that are right. We just have to be humble enough to ask for it.

I know the gospel is true! It is very simple! I know that We have a loving Father in Heaven and he has sent his Son for us. I know families can be together forever!
