Hi Mom and Dad,

I am able to send an email because tomorrow I don't have p-day. So yeah, I am going to fly tomorrow 2:30 am to Chicago. I think I will be able to call. I will call the number of the computer room. If ever if no one will answer I will call the office. I am not sure what time I will call so just be prepared.

Elder Miner, Elder Brandley and the rest of the district is getting reassigned because their visa is still in process. There has been a lot of delays for the Taiwan visas for Americans. These are only temporary reassignments. When the're visa's have arrived they will immediately fly to Taiwan.

Elder miner is going to Arkansas Little Rock Mission together with sister Johnson and Sister Huntington
Sister Pierson and Sister Meyers are assigned in Washington Everett mission

This are only reassignments.

Hey how is everyone doing?

Cant believe its my last P-day in the MTC. Its crazy how next week I will start Proselyting. Hong Kong will be great. I am gonna miss Utah, I'll miss the Provo MTC and the Provo temple. It is both warm and cold. I learned a lot and I've grown so much here. I still can not believe its been 9 weeks I am away from home. It felt like just yesterday when I left home. I feel so blessed, every time I lie down on my bed I feel like Mom Dad Brent Zach and Reese is beside me. I thank God for helping me build my faith before the mission. I know my family is with me in this mission. I strive to be the best missionary God wants me to be. I know it will be a little tough when I get to Hong Kong. It is gonna be hard listening to native speakers, but I can do this. Through the help of God I will be able to do this. I just have to work hard and do my part.

This week was fun! I remembered the day I got my visa. During class (Laoshi) Teacher gave us time to review. During the Review time, I was staring at the computer and suddenly a Notification popped out " Elder Sy Please Come to the Travel office ASAP and bring your passport". Then there I knew my visa has arrived. It was crazy! I was so happy that moment! 2nd great thing was having a tour around Utah. I love road trips so I really did have fun. It takes an hour from MTC to Salt Lake City. It was fun seeing how Utah looks like. Really looks different from home. The great thing is I felt the spirit during the trip. Its crazy how a bunch of handcarts moved to Utah and built a Great City.

Hong Kong will be fun. I will work hard when I get there. See ya!

MTC 8.0 ( Week 8 ) My Final 2 Weeks Inside Missionary Training Center

Hello how are you guys?

This week was pretty much the same. If you wanna know what happened this week just look at the mails from the last 7 weeks. Everyday is all the same, Study sleep study sleep. The different thing is that I know that I have to better prepare myself for the field. I know the field is not gonna be easy. So I better make the most out of this 2 weeks. Everyday I strive to learn new words that I can add to my vocab. The cool thing is I there are a lot of new words coming out of my mouth. Listening to the teacher speaking Chinese is not hard for me. The hard thing is expressing my self, that's why I kinda have to practice even more. The most important thing is the spirit. Teaching by the spirit is the most important thing. I think in the MTC that is what I really learned. The spirit in the MTC is so great. There is no other noise except for the sound of the spirit.

This week was fun. Getting along really well with my companions. They are really good examples to me. From taking quick showers and studying. I learned a lot from them. I thank God that I was given the perfect companions to start my mission. I learned also how to speak like them, they're English is perfect. ( of course because they are from America ) They teach me how to speak in an american accent. Every day I also try to improve my English. Its cool! I feel like speaking English here is much more comfortable than speaking it back home. Hopefully it gets even better throughout my mission.

Something cool I learned this week is the Atonement of Christ. Having Faith in his atonement is really important in our lives. We can rely on his atonement through faith. When we have burdens in our life, Jesus Christ is there to carry it With us. The atonement of Jesus Christ can heal us completely. If there is a nail on a fence-post and we pull it out it leaves a hole, but the Atonement of Jesus Christ can pull out the nail and there wouldn't be a hole. His atonement can heal us completely if we have the desire to change. One of the fruits of His Atonement is repentance. Sometimes we think of repentance as a negative action because we sinned. But then its a blessing that we can repent and become better everyday. Everyday we should strive to become like Christ. We all are not perfect, but as we strive to follow His perfect example it brings a greater impact than thinking that we cant be like Him.
