HK 57 Easter Eggs !

Hello! 各位弟兄姐妹早安!

Happy Easter! Hallelujah! I know He lives!

This week were filled with fun experiences. Elder Forston and I are working really hard and praying really hard for our investigator. We are praying for divine guidance as to know where the prepared people are. Listening to the little promptings of the spirit has been key as well. Our teaching has been awesome, the spiritual jabs we throw to our investigators is a killer. The spirit is just kicking in during the lesson and I love it! The Holy Ghost really is the teacher, all we have to do is to be clean vessels so that the spirit can work through us.

We set a new baptismal date with one of our investigators for May 15th. This time its solid, he seems determined this time. We are helping him with overcoming drinking. It'll be a long shot since he is a business man and apparently drinking is part of the game. So we are praying hard for him! He is awesome.  It has been a great privilege to teach the people who are not compelled to be humble here in Hong Kong. People here are loaded, they got the things that they need. So it has been a humble experience to help them understand the importance of the gospel in their lives and helping them understand that money really isn't everything. So, I look up to these people who would give time to us to listen what we know to be true and can help them have a better perspective in life.

Pretty cool thing that happened this week was when we were about to head out the chapel, I had a prompting to stay. We followed it and we sent text messages to invite our investigators to an activity coming up. As we were doing that, a man from Dubai came in and asked if he could take a tour around the church. And Of Course, we were more than happy to do it! Apparently that guy from Dubai is a shoe designer and he works for Nike and Adidas. Pretty sweet cos he showed us the latest design he made for Lebron, and some ideas he had for Puma and he showed us a picture of the owner of Nike in his studio. Really smart and spiritual guy, he said he was led by the spirit to come in to the church. We taught him the plan of salvation helped him understand the purpose if his life. He told me to get back into my basketball shoes, I told him the reason why I am serving tho. Consecration! It's been a blessing being a servant of the Lord out here!

Earlier this morning, I read Alma 32 and I am very impressed with what is said in one of the verses. Blessed are the people who are not compelled to be humble. As I was pondering upon that, I was once again reminded of how we should always have a humble attitude regardless of what our situation is. We have to have a humble heart as we Pray, Study the Scriptures, and as we go to church and magnify our calling. What a great reminder it is for me.

I just want to bear my simple testimony once again. I really do know that Christ lives. I would Like to repeat  what the angels say by his tomb, "He is Risen"!. I am so grateful for the atonement in my life, it really brings spiritual and physical power. It is real. I know that He is the Christ, all we have to do is to come unto him. I am excited for general conference, it'll be a great experience to hear the testimonies of the prophets. I know the Heavenly Father lives and He loves me and you!

I hope you guys have a great week! :D

HK 56 大家好! 這個星期非常好!

On Mar. 21, 2016 at 1:01 PM Jayzon Christian Sy <jayzon.sy@myldsmail.net> wrote:

Hello! 大家好! 這個星期非常好!

Pretty alright week. It was definitely a test of faith for me. So last week I ate prawn crackers during E-mails. Well this week I paid the price. I had bad allergic reaction throughout the week. I am alright now tho, thanks to the Atonement and a Priesthood blessing I was able to overcome the sickness pretty quickly. Lesson learned, never eat prawn crackers! In other words, don't give in to sin! It's better to avoid than to be healed. HAHA!

So this week we worked hard! I am glad I had the strength to continue finding and teaching. We were able to help all our investigators this week. Planning has been a big part of the success. As we do our companionship study, we think about how we can help each of our investigators personally.

Sundays are the best! I love the 維多利亞3rd branch. I just learn so much from the members example and from their teachings. We were able to bring 3 of our investigators to church. One of our solid investigators brought their kids to church. Such an awesome family. We are working and praying hard for them. Its been a challenge with him but we are working hard with helping him with Word of Wisdom Problems. His kids are super cute. One of their kids just hangs on my leg all the time and he loves the magic that I always show to kids. Super cute family.

This week I learned about the importance of having a belief in Christ. Our belief in Christ changes our perspective in every aspect in our lives. As we read the first chapter of  Nephi we can see the difference between both Nephi and his brothers,Laman and Lemuel. As they were going through the affliction of there life we can see the comments from the three of em in the first few chapters. Nephi had great faith and understood why they were commanded to leave and even go back to get the Brass plates. On the other hand his brothers were murmuring during there afflictions and didn't understand why they were commanded. Nephi clearly understood why he had to do what his father commanded. He knew that the commandment was from Christ. His brothers didn't. They were rebellious cos they didn't understand.

So grateful that I was able to survive this week. The atonement is real! I am so grateful that we have the priesthood on earth once again. The blessing I received was beautiful and gave me strength to continue working. I know that Christ lives. His grace and mercy is indeed sufficient for us to go through our daily lives and it gives us the strength ourselves to prepare ourselves to go back to Heavenly Fathers presence as well. I love the gospel. I know that this church is true. I am so grateful for living day prophets who lead us in these latter days. Have a great week!

HK 55 Great Week Of Work And Focus.

On Mar. 14 , 2016 at 12:29 PM Jayzon Christian Sy <jayzon.sy@myldsmail.net> wrote:

Great week of work! This work is awesome!

This week we were able to sit down and talk with President Lam. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to sit down with him and get to know each other more. He is such a great man, full of charity. We talked about how I can improve on being a better missionary. He offered a beautiful prayer as well. Everything he said was just what I needed to continue working hard.

This week was great, although there were disappointing that happened (like investigators not keeping commitments) we still worked hard and prayed hard. Although it was hard we were still able to bring Scott and his family to church. Such a cute family, their kids are just so cute! The magic trick I show to kids never fail, they love it! There's just lots of cute kids in the branch, so much potential for the growth of the branch. Shi xian sheng came as well. Pretty funny, he just loves singing and always sings in the middle of class. We are working really hard with this old man. A lot of work to do with this fella.

During finding this week, I had an impression to do welcome center finding, its were we stand outside the Wan Chai chapel and do some street contact. It actually happened twice this week. As we were doing it one time, we were able to bring this man from Shang Hai in and we taught him the restoration and bore a powerful testimony. That was a tender mercy. Another one was when dinner was about to come. We only had 10 minutes left. I was tempted to just start dinner early but then I decided to just finish the last 10 minutes. As we continued a woman came up to us cause she wanted a tour of the chapel. We gave her a tour ( apparently she met some missionaries in the train but didnt get a hold of them). We gave her a tour and testified about the fullness of  the gospel of Jesus Christ is once again restored. Awesome experience.

This week I really did my best to focus on the work. Pretty tough cos I've been thinking about the future recently. I got really scared but I prayed for the strength to overcome this challenge. Cool thing is how last week I was able to focus a lot. I was dreaming about missionary work every night last week, I've been praying while taking a shower, eating and all. So I am grateful that Heavenly Father gave me the strength to stay consecrated.

Something I learned this week is about how we are all bound to fall. On my mission I've seen a pattern on things like prayer. Most of the time I can concentrate on my prayer but there are just times when I get to complacent with it and don't focus. The thing I have learned is as soon as we fall we should get back up really quickly cos if we continue being complacent we will end up in a deep pit. So as soon as we realize we are getting too relaxed on some things, we have to quickly repent.

I love the gospel. Lots of things that I have learned. I am so grateful for the enabling power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I love partaking the sacrament with members every week. It really is an expression of the willingness to continue to follow the Fathers command. I am grateful to be a missionary out here. See you all! have a great week!

HK 54 Healing Comes When We Choose To Walk Away From Darkness And Move Towards A Brighter Light.

Hey! 大家好!最近怎麼樣! 我非常高興我可以在香港可以服務我的天父! 我真的智到這個工作是最好的.

This week was awesome! Was pretty busy but it was alright! Man, I love the work. I just love the people of Hong Kong and mainland. We worked so hard this week! Lots of miracles coming along in the island.

This week we had the opportunity to teach and baptize a guy from mainland! He was awesome, these main-landers are so prepared for the gospel. I just see the thirst for the gospel in their eyes everytime I meet with them. I am grateful that I get to help these people learn more about the restored gospel! When we ate lunch with him, he kept asking why we would talk to everyone and we told him that, that is the only way we would be able to preach the gospel. He loved it, every person that passed by us he would say hi as well. I hope he becomes a missionary too!

This week we had MLC and Zone training as well. It was awesome to be able to be edified together with all the zone leaders during MLC. During MLC we talked about obedience and how it is important to be exactly obedient. So grateful that our mission is very obedient. Zone training was awesome. We talked about how we can be better missionaries and how companionship unity is important. Lastly, we set goals on how we can work with the branches better.

Met with almost all of our investigators. We testified and committed them to keep God's commandments so that we will be able to help them develop there faith in Heavenly Father. It is the only way these people are gonna progress in the gospel.

I am very grateful that I get to testify of Christ everyday. I am so grateful that I get serve in Victoria 3rd branch as well. Awesome branch with great leaders. I have learned a lot from their examples. I am grateful that I get serve with Elder Forston as well, I have learned a lot from him. We are both working hard and we really know that it is only through the spirit that we get to have to preach the gospel.

I want to bear my testimony once again. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation. Heavenly Father really loves each one of us, He has given us this chance to learn here in life. I know that we are not perfect beings but that is why I am grateful for Christ's atonement. The plan is perfect, I am so grateful for the hope that it brings. I am so grateful for the example that Christ has set for each one of us. I know He lives and He loves each one of us. He understands everything that we go through. I know that the power that the atonement brings is real.

Have a great week!

HK 53 Wisdom Will Come As We Listen To Learn

On Feb. 29 , 2016 at 1:19 PM Jayzon Christian Sy <jayzon.sy@myldsmail.net> wrote:

Hello, this week was awesome!

This week we were visited by an apostle of the Lord. Elder Stevenson came and as a mission we were able to sit down and hear him bear witness of Christ. It was awesome, he talked about ways on how we can be effective missionaries. I am so grateful that I was able to listen to him bear his testimony. As he was bearing his testimony, I felt the spirit so strongly. He was going so hard for 5 minutes about how Christ lives and how He is the main reason of why we do this work. It was intense. My testimony is strengthened by his talk and training.

This week was full of finding. We worked so hard! We were able to find a couple of investigators. Very excited for them! We were able to see our 107 years old friend this week. Pretty ancient huh? We saw him at night and quickly approached him. We asked how he was and he started crying. He said he slept on the floor the other day and he doesn't know why he slept on the floor. It was pretty sad seeing the old person cry. We hugged him and we walked him home. He calls us his Hao PengYou ( good friend). Really nice dude. We were also able to teach a person we found the other week. It was a powerful lesson. He was from Fujian. I am very excited for him as well.

It is fun to serve as a zone leader. It is very tricky and can be stressful sometimes. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the other missionaries tho. Elder Mangrobang just got called as the other zone leader. I am very excited as well. We were able to sit down together last week and talk about the needs of the whole zone.

We were able to help one a mainland visitor come unto Christ once again. It was great to see the husband baptize her wife. It was a great experience!

Finding this week was awesome. We focused on the areas of Aberdeen and Kennedy town. Finding has been awesome recently. Although its hard to find the golden people, we still have the hope that they are somewhere out there. I just have an awesome feeling for this area.

Teaching Shi xiansheng (Mr.) is a test of patience as well. Pretty hard to teach him, it feels like mom trying to teach me how to put my dirty clothes in the basket. It takes time! We sang songs with him and invited him to be baptize but he says he doesn't understand anything. We are working hard to help him understand something. He loves the activities tho, we played basketball right after and he play really well. Pretty funny!

Scott just arrived last week and we are meeting him tomorrow. We are very excited to work with him as well. He is just golden!

I love my mission man! There are a lot of things I learned! To be honest the things that I have learned are really simple, nothing profound! I am so grateful that I get to apply the atonement of Jesus Christ into my life as a missionary. Every time I feel like I want to give up, I just think of what He has done for me. Nothing hard in this life is comparable to the sacrifice He has given. I know that He lives. I am grateful that I can see Him bless my life and to others as well. I know that God lives, He really does love each one of us. He has a perfect plan! I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and my redeemer. No matter where we are at life, His arms are always open to receive us. Come unto Him! And I know that by the power of the Holy Ghost we will know all things that we should do. Of this I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
