HK 39 Don't Let Your Trials Blow You Down: Let Them Lift You Up .

Hello how's it going? This week was another week for growth.

This week was tough for me. Our investigators were all busy so we didn't get to meet with all of them. It was a week of finding down here in the island and I have to say it was a test of faith. I am grateful for looking at the whole week with spiritual eyes tho. As my faith was being tested last week, I feel like it has strengthened my faith and has once again humbled me down. I am grateful for the grate attitude that my companion had as well, he lifted me up and helped me be positive. This week I also got sick, I had a bad headache the other day that kept me in bed. Glad I was able to recover from that in just a day. I am grateful for the care of other Elders tho. Elder Lui ( someone I live with) cooked con-gee for me and it kind of taste like what mom would give every time I am sick.

Finding in the island is pretty tough but we kept the faith and tried so hard to stop people and share about the restored gospel. We were able to stop a couple of people. As I was pondering on our efforts this week, I realized that our finding efforts were not wasted. We were able to find 3 new investigators for  the Elders in our apartment . They are kind of struggling recently and now they have 3 new people in their teaching pool. We were able to visit a family in the ward and help strengthen their faith in Christ as well. Like what President Lam and Preach My Gospel says, there is no effort wasted.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my master. It has been a great experience out here in Hong Kong. I love the people here and I am grateful I can serve everyone I meet and teach. I know that Christ lives. I am so grateful for His infinite atonement. Have a great week!

HK 38 Its In The Doing Not Just The Thinking, That We Accomplish Our Goals !

Hello Everyone,

Great week of work! Our hard prayers and faith are paying off. I am grateful for the many spiritual experiences I go through on my mission. I am most grateful for the time out here to be able to develop good spiritual habits and see how the pattern goes. One thing I have learned out here is how prayers are important. We have to pray when we pray. We have to pour out our hearts into the prayer to be able to receive specific revelations.

This week we were able to meet with almost all of our investigators. Our investigators have been keeping their commitments. One of the struggles out here is helping people gain a desire to learn about Christ and His teachings. We ask God everyday to soften their hearts and to help them develop a desire to learn and follow Christ. We are excited for one of our investigators, his name is Tony. He is full of energy and his enthusiasm is contagious. He has been progressing really well and we are giving him a baptismal date the next time we meet with him. I am also very grateful for the many investigators we are teaching, the relationship we created is eternal.

I was able to sit down with President Lam and have an interview with him. It was really spiritual. I am very impressed with his spirituality and knowledge of the scriptures. I am grateful for the suggestions he gave me to help me become a better missionary. Not only for missionary work though but also in life.

Elder Forston has been great. He is really faithful and we are working hard together. We are always tired everyday and that is great! The area has been really great. There are tons of families and students so its a mix of both. Hopefully this week we get good finding time and we will be able to find the golden people.

Hmm, I guess this letter is full of tender mercies. I am just very grateful that I get to see Gods hand  touching my life and others as well. I invite everyone to take time and write down a tender mercy from God every day and you too will see how He is blessing you.

I know this is the greatest and most important work. I am grateful to be apart of it. I know Jesus Christ lives. I know God lives. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is the restored church. I know the Book of Mormon is true. It really is another testament of Jesus Christ. I am grateful I am able to serve my master here in Hong Kong. Hope ya'll have a great week.

HK 37 Helping Others Find Faith In Christ.

This week was great, great week of helping people come unto Christ. This week was super spiritual as well because we had zone conference and district conference. I have come to love these types of meeting. Growing up in church I never value the time in church and in other meetings. Things actually started clicking when I turned 17. Everything in church was actually interesting and helpful. I am grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost because through Him I am able to learn for myself about the truthfulness of the things taught in church. My faith in Jesus Christ was strengthened once again during zone conference. President Lam is really good with putting everything around Christ. In zone conference we learned about the culture of Hong Kong. Also got a chance to improve my teaching skills through some training given by the zone leaders. At the end of the day, as missionaries our purpose is to invite people to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel. This is our purpose.

This week was great. Taught great lessons. We were able to teach this guy with a ton of questions about the book of Mormon. It was rough cos his questions were super intellectual but then Elder Forston and I asked him what he wanted to get out of the Book of Mormon. Then afterwards we testified to him about how the Book of Mormon can improve the qualities of his life. I just love it when you feel the spirit as you testify to people. We are also helping a guy come unto Christ step by step. We were able to teach him almost everyday of the week. Pretty funny cos he says he wants to quit his job to hang out with us. Well hopefully he doesn't, ha! Finding here on the island is Cha Bu Duo. People still doesn't stop. But there are tons of families here so we are trying to focus more on families this week.

I am grateful for the spiritual experiences I have had out hear on my mission. I know there will be more. I know Christ lives and I know that the fullness of His gospel is once again restored on this earth. I know families can be together forever.

HK 36 Navigating Confidently Through The Maze Of Missionary Life.

Hello,

Another Great week of missionary work. Serving the International ward was really fun. The members in the branch are really strong and they do have a strong testimony of Christ. So yeah, after 6 days of working with Elder Mangrobang I got transferred back into the Mandarin Work. So now I am actually serving with Elder Forston in the Island. So we are both serving the HK island and we attend the Victoria 3rd branch. Time just makes you look at things differently. After six days of working with Elder Mangrobang, I was able to learn a alot. It was a pretty humbling experience. I actually struggled and it humbled me. I relied on the savior so much during those six days, and I am working hard on keeping that mindset here in the mandarin work.

So yeah, last 4 days back in mandarin work is awesome. Have been really praying hard recently and we've seen miracles! We were actually doing welcome center finding the other day, and what we do is we stay in front of the wan chai chapel and try to invite people to take a tour of a building. I praying really hard that we would find someone. Cool thing was an hour after, we were able to invite someone to come in, she was really interested. We taught the restoration and she will be coming to church this week. So that is pretty cool. The vic3 branch is pretty nice. It is all in mandarin! It is an interesting branch, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this branch.

This week Elder Forston and I had the chance to visit the James family. Super good family. Once again my testimony is strengthened by their example. Families who applies the gospel into their lives are the best. I am grateful that my mom and dad were great examples to me. Being out here on a mission made me realize how mom and dad were the best. I am grateful I was raised in the gospel. It has protected me from a lot of things and it brought a direction into my life. I am grateful for the Plan of Salvation. It answers 3 questions, where were we before mortality, our purpose in life, what is life after death. I am grateful for the eternal perspective it brings. It has brought a lot of peace into my life.

I know Christ Lives. I really do.
