This week was really great. Elder Woolley and I had the right mindset once again. We worked hard with our investigators and the recent converts. This week we were not able to do a lot of finding because of the many meetings we had but we still strive to talk to the people around us. This week we were able to do banner finding with the Tolo south sisters as well. Banner finding is when we find a busy area and place a banner by the wall and start talking to everyone that is walking by. Banner finding has been really effective for us, we were able to find a couple of mainlanders last week. Trying to talk to everyone is really fun, I try to get there attention by asking questions. I feel like most people think we are trying to sell some product because lots of companies has the same strategy. But hey its the best product out here on the streets! This week we were able to teach a person from mainland. It was a surprise because the assistance called us during lunch time and told us someone walked in and wants to learn more about the gospel. We then rushed to the chapel to teach him, we were able to teach him the whole 4 lessons. He was really receptive and knew a lot of the doctrine its crazy. He even read half of the B.O.M. before he got here. I am amazed by the faith of these people from china. It just makes me grateful for the freedom that I have to learn and apply the teachings of Christ. Sometimes we take the privilege we have for granted and there are people in other places who really wants it. So for you people reading this, BE GRATEFUL.
There is a typhoon right now so its been a pretty cold week. Hopefully the weather keeps up so I don't have to turn darker! But nevertheless the work still continues regardless of it being cold or not. We were able to fix the gate of our apartment! It was so intense we use strings, paperclips and tweezers to wedge the screw up. That was a funny experience to be honest. This morning I was able to play basketball with the sha tin elders and 2 members from Daipo. We played three on three and hoooo I was dying! Pretty out of shape to be honest, but it was fun tho.
This week I was able to read an article about having real intent. Reading that article inspired me to have real intent in doing the things I do. As we have real intent in the things we do, it gives life a purpose. When doing something, try to ask yourself " Why am I doing this? " I invite everyone to pour out your hearts in the things you do and remember to align the things you do with what God wants you to do. I know that the Atonement of Christ is so powerful and is an endless fountain of hope. I know that as we apply his atonement to our daily lives we will feel more confident in facing the throne of God. I know the Church is true. And I know that the fullness of the gospel is restored through a modern day prophet. Have a great week!
