Hello, how is everyone's week! It has been a great week of missionary work. Lots of things to learn out here in the field. I'll be honest, time is flying really quick. I remember 6 months ago was general conference and from that time to this general conference was pretty quick! It is suits season now actually, we were asked to wear suits for every proselyting activity. It is getting colder! It was really hot three days ago but in just a day the weather changed. So yeah, I am kind of grateful I was able to make it through summer! The challenge now is taking cold showers. The apartments hot shower is really hot and we cant control the heat. So we had to find a way to make it warm enough to shower on.
Anyways, this week was general conference week. I am grateful I was able to hear the voices and counsels of the prophet and the apostle. As I was pondering upon there words I realized how important their words are. I realized how their words helps us understand how we can specifically apply the gospel of Jesus Christ into our lives. Its like a map with a compass! Everything just becomes clearer and the gospel does not become vague. There were three things that stood out to me as I was listening to the whole conference. First is commandments, the Lord gives us commandments for our own benefit not for restrictions. We have to see the bigger picture! We get protection from the things we are commanded to do. Plus, we also receive temporal and spiritual blessings from it. How great is that! Second, I learned about how keeping the Sabbath day is really important. The servants of the Lord has counseled us to keep the Sabbath day holy, like REALLY KEEPING IT HOLY. As we go to church every week, we have to be spiritually prepared for the personal revelations we can get. So when church starts we have to be focused in learning by the spirit. It may be tough but if we really try to we will be blessed by it. Third is the gift of the Holy Ghost. We must be worthy to have the companionship of him. Every time we get that hunch from him, do it. Every time we pray we have to take time to ponder and let the spirit guide you in your prayers. If we do that, we are promised we will be able to know what we should do. It just brings a big purpose!
Last week was really great! We were able to teach a lot of lessons. One of them being a mainlander. It was another great opportunity for me to grow as I taught a woman from jiang xi. My testimony is strengthened once again. These people coming down here are very humble and receptive to the spirit. We were able to find a lot of people to teach as well. We are excited for this week. I hope everything goes well. I know the Church is true and we have a living prophet. I know Christ lives. I love Him and I am grateful for the impact the gospel has in my life. I am grateful.
