HK 70 Early Emails.

On June 27, 2016 at 8:01 PM Jayzon Christian Sy <jayzon.sy@myldsmail.net> wrote:

Good Morning, went on a really good run this morning and I am stopping by for early E-mails! Last week was amazing once again!

So last week we helped Scot we prayed so hard for Scot's progression. His faith has been going up and down. He came to church tho and witnessed a baptism! The baptismal service was great, Guo Di Xiong got baptized and it was such an awesome service filled with the spirit. Us Elders gave a musical number and it sounded super awesome! Scot liked it so much, now he knows how a baptism goes. Hopefully that will get him to be less nervous. It has been an amazing experience with Scot. As we try our best to help him come closer unto Christ we, I have definitely found change in myself. There has been so much hope for Scot and we exercise our faith in every lesson/contact with him.

So a lot of things are happening in the mission. Hong Kong stakes were split into 6 stakes. So President Lam reorganized the mission. He moved a ton of people around. It was pretty crazy but nothing really happened here in the international zone. Well the cool thing is my Trainee Elder Woolley was called to be Assistant so he is in Cantonese work now. Such a powerful missionary! Oh, and yeah Elder Shukis is my new Zone Leader Companion. So I am excited to work with him and help the zone out.

So last week we had interviews with President Lam as well. It was a great time for me to sit down with him and learn from my very wise President. He taught me a couple of great principles. The one that stood out to me is the principle of promptings from the Holy Ghost. Heavenly Father loves us so much that he gives each of us specific promptings to receive personal blessings. Heavenly Father really knows us and loves us. He gives us personal promptings just for us. How awesome is that? I really do know that he loves us. I also talked to President Lam about school stuff, he gave me some great insights! I am so grateful for the example of that humble man.

So yeah, Six months more to go. It's pretty crazy how time goes by so fast. Last year and a half have been the best experience of my life. It is life  changing! I am so grateful to be an instrument of the Lord and seeing people change through the gospel has been amazing. As I invite people unto Christ, I naturally bring myself to Christ as well. It's hard to describe but I love the 福音so much! The gospel of Jesus Christ is so real. It has made a big difference with the way I think, act and speak. I am so grateful for this knowledge. I have Faith that I can be with my family for eternities. I believe that Christ lives and he loves each one of us, oh how wonderful it is!

Have a great week!

HK 69 Father's Day

On June 20, 2016 at 12:01 PM Jayzon Christian Sy <jayzon.sy@myldsmail.net> wrote:

So yeah, last week was pretty good.

Well, last week was such a big test of faith. I am so grateful for the many challenges and tests of faith during this run. It's been crazy and I really know that these challenges are to be learned from.

So last week we tried relied so much on the spirit to help Scot overcome his challenge right now. He is kind of struggling with faith because he was reading a lot of anti the other day. So he feels like he is loosing faith. To be honest I admire the man so much. Talk about telling a couple of 19 year old kids all your problems. It probably takes humility to do that. We called him every night and prayed so hard that he can feel the spirit. He is off word of wisdom now and we are moving his baptismal date a week back. So I hope that this time is the time. Well, I am actually pretty happy that he is going through it. The theme the Presidency has given to missionaries is Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts. So I am sure that the trials that Scot is going through will strengthen his testimony before baptism. We had a beautiful Family Home Evening with his family as well, we taught them how to hold one and hopefully they will be doing it. Their kids are really adorable. Pretty funny kids!

Yesterday was fathers day. That was awesome! Yeah, recently a lot of memories with my dad have been popping out of my head. I am so blessed to have such a supportive dad. I will never forget the days when dad would be at every basketball practice and at every gaming cheering and giving me a heads up. It is awesome to have such a big fan. I know that I also have a Father in Heaven who does the same. He loves me and only cheers me up and never gives me doubts. I love the gospel. I believe that Christ lives and his atonement is so real.

Have a great week!

HK 68 Tender Mercies.

On June 13, 2016 at 1:11 PM Jayzon Christian Sy <jayzon.sy@myldsmail.net> wrote:

Hello Everyone! Last week was awesome! A lot of tender mercies!

So yeah, it was pretty fun. I was able to go live in the temple and do exchanges with Elder Shukis (My second companion). Pretty awesome! It was awesome to be able to work with him again. We had a lot of fun teaching together. We were able to schedule 3 appointments and all of them were pretty solid! I am pretty amazed with how enthusiastic Elder Shukis is, its amazing how he is keeping it at this time of the mission. Definitely something that I learned from him.

Zone Training was pretty awesome as well. What a great privilege it is to prepare training for the zone. It is such a great opportunity for me to serve a lot of people. I am so grateful for the opportunity because it helps me loose myself even more.

So yeah, during my mission my weaknesses has been exposed a ton. I thought after being set apart from the stake President, I would naturally some type of power that would make me a perfect missionary. Well, I guess not. This is such an important lesson that I have learned on my mission though. You have to make things happen. "Pray as if everything depends on the Lord and Work as if everything depends on yourself." What a valuable lesson I have learned out here.

Well last week  Scot came back and the good thing is he didn't drink the last 2 weeks! What a great miracle. We are very excited for him. We actually had a branch activity as well. It was dragon boat festival last Thursday so we kind of had a missionary activity. A lot of investigators came to the activity so that was a great missionary opportunity for the members.

I am so excited for the area, We hope that this week will be even better. I am so grateful that I get to see the Lord's hands in the lives of others and even in mine. I really do know that He lives. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are perfect beings and there sole purpose is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of men. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life

HK 67 大家好!

大家好!

Last week was pretty interesting. It went by pretty fast, time gets faster and faster!

We were able to visit the Huangs again, such a good family. We had family home evening with them. Home teaching is very important, we are helping our home teaching companions fulfill there responsibilities of being home teachers. As priesthood brethren we all have responsibility to look after the church. We are to serve and be with the members in times of need and even in times of abundance.

We weren't able to meet Scot this week because he was in 日本 the whole week. We prayed really hard and we sent him scriptures through our member. Members are super important in nourishing our investigators. They are the friends that will be there for them when they need help that we cannot provide. We are doing a good job to get Scot to meet with members so that he can have more ward support.

I was able to go to MLC last week. It was a great meeting. We talked about the needs of the zone and how we can help them and assist them in the work. Being a leader has been a great privilege. I just love serving. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to lift the missionaries and how wonderful it is to be lifted as well.

Well, I am so grateful that I have felt God's love for me. He has been with me the whole time during the ups and downs of my mission. Heavenly Father really loves us and He just wants whats best for us. We just have to be humble and continue to keep His commandments. I know he lives. He has such a big plan for us. I am so grateful for such loving parents. What a blessing it is to have the best support. Have a great week.
